Bamboo roman shades have two qualities which make them an excellent choice for window treatments. First of all, they are made of natural materials, bamboo being well-known for creating a friendly and warm atmosphere in a room. Secondly, roman shades have the great advantage of being extremely easy to customize, therefore suitable for interior designers who like to match various elements in a room to look well together.

Smart and skillful housewives can make their own roman window shades, either using bamboo slats, or by mixing together different materials and fabrics, for a more original pattern. The big advantage, and in the same time a drawback for some persons, of bamboo is that it allows plenty of light to enter the room during the day and yet it offers a good sense of privacy. A simple solution for the lack of 100% privacy is to layer the bamboo roman shades with a casual panel curtain which can be pushed to sides when not needed. You can easily integrate both the shades and the curtain into your general color scheme. Not all bamboo is the same, so ou may notice that some bamboo slats may differ in brown shades and they may even have reflexes of green, yellow or dark red.
